Plan
Dr. Patel Dentistry is proud to accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan β bringing quality dental care to eligible Canadians who lack private insurance.
Federal Program
What Is the Canadian Dental Care Plan?
The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a federal government program that provides dental coverage for Canadians who do not have access to private or employer-sponsored dental insurance and whose adjusted family net income is below $90,000 per year.
The program covers a wide range of dental services β from routine checkups and cleanings to fillings, extractions, root canals, and dentures. Coverage varies based on adjusted family net income, with co-payments possible for incomes between $70,000 and $90,000.
At Dr. Patel Dentistry, we handle direct billing to the CDCP on your behalf. You simply bring your CDCP card and we take care of the rest.

Common Questions
CDCP FAQ
Do I need to pay anything upfront at Dr. Patel Dentistry?
In most cases, no. We direct-bill the CDCP on your behalf. Patients between $70,000β$90,000 family income may have a co-payment depending on the service.
How do I apply for CDCP?
The federal government sends invitations to apply directly to eligible Canadians. You can also apply through My Service Canada Account or by calling 1-833-537-4342. Once approved, you receive a CDCP card to bring to your appointment.
What do I need to bring to my appointment?
Bring your CDCP member card (digital or physical) and a valid government-issued ID. Our team will handle direct billing from there.
Can I use CDCP for cosmetic dental procedures?
The CDCP covers medically necessary dental care β checkups, fillings, extractions, dentures, and similar treatments. Purely cosmetic procedures like teeth whitening and veneers are not covered.
Is CDCP the same as provincial dental programs?
No. CDCP is a federal program. Some provinces also have their own dental programs for children or low-income residents. These are separate from CDCP and our team can help determine which plan applies to you.
Does Dr. Patel Dentistry accept walk-ins for CDCP patients?
We welcome CDCP patients and encourage you to book in advance to ensure we can allocate enough time for your visit. Call us at 289-660-3368 or book online.
